Archive 200827.12.2008On December 24, 2008 VAGONMASH CJSC shipped another 6 subway cars (two 81-572 cab cars and four 81-573 middle cars) manufactured for Warsaw subway (Poland). It was the third shipment of subway cars to Warsaw that was made under the contract signed in 2007. At present, CJSC VAGONMASH proceeds with manufacturing of the 4th and 5th subway trains. VAGONMASH CJSC has already obtained the admission license allowing operation of those cars in Poland. 81-572 and 81-573 series cars specially designed to satisfy conventional European requirements run through a number of obligatory tests. Therefore, nowadays VAGONMASH is among those few Russian machinery plants that export and certify their products in EU. Subway cars for Warsaw subway constitute the latest and the most comprehensive project that involves modification of the conventional Russian subway cars. Modifications done by VAGONMASH CJSC affected every major system. New stylish interior helps passengers to appreciate car “volume”, practical wearproof curved handholds are made of stainless steel and fit into the interior appearance perfectly. Comfortable seats are upholstered with soft European-made material and furnished with anti-vandal elements. Another convenience for passengers is comfortable illumination provided by the rows of newly installed lights which are located along passenger seats. Wearproof European-made linoleum contributes to advanced usability and helps to keep the interior tidy for a long time. Forced vent system is used to distribute fresh air proportionally over the cab. Passengers will appreciate not only proportional distribution of fresh air but low noise level (68 dB) inside the cab as well. This value was accomplished through application of the components produced by the world leading manufacturers. Ventilating units use replaceable filters; therefore dust and allergic agents are removed from the supplied air. For passengers’ convenience, the global information system was installed in the train - two scrolling text panels in each car. These panels will be used to inform passengers on the train’s route and provide them with other helpful information. Each of scrolling text panels located in both ends of the car will have a built-in surveillance camera gathering information of what is going on in the specific car. For the benefit of passengers, security communication system “passenger – engineer” has video communication and video recording function. Engineer’s is the basic element of the safety and security aspect; that is why VAGONMASH paid special attention to engineer’s working conditions. Engineer’s cab with new compact control panel was designed on the basis of advanced human engineering approach. Conditioning system and vibration absorbing engineer’s chair with pneumatic adjustment make operator’s work more comfortable. As the above cars were built using bogies with removable buffer plate suspension rods, it substantially reduces repair cost. Modified couplings made by the leading European manufacturer contribute to the enhanced reliability of the bogies. Moreover, the design includes substantially modified subfloor equipment, a new highly reliable pneumatic circuit and convenient and safe doors (with anti-jam mode). These cars have high level of fire safety unique for the RF: - interior of the car is made of steel covered with powdered enamel; - advanced fire-extinguishing system; - remote unlocking of the end intercar doors gives the opportunity to evacuate passengers via the stairways in the front of the train. Warsaw subway appreciated cooperation with VAGONMASH CJSC and agreed to extend the partnership with the car manufacturer from Saint Petersburg by signing a new contract for the delivery of two more trains in 2009. 22.12.2008On December 17, 2008 the yield of the 4th coupon of VAGONMASH CJSC bonds (series 02) was paid in the amount of 75.54 rubles per bond. The total coupon yield paid on the 4th coupon amounted to 75,527,082.66 roubles. Aggregate amount of coupon yield paid on 02 series bonds amounted to 240,077,082.66 roubles. 15.12.2008On December 13, 2008 in pursuance of the Municipal Contract dated on June 2008 “Petersburg tram mechanical factory” OJSC shipped first three-unit 71-154 tramcar manufactured for Volgograd streetcar express system (Metrotram). In accordance with the signed contract, the second similar tram will be shipped to Volgograd in summer 2009. Therefore, having developed this class of tramcar the plant approached to construction of light rail transport (LRT). It was development of tramcar expresses projects that encouraged discussion on this mode of transport in Russia. Today, such projects are developed not only in Saint Petersburg, but also in Moscow, Voronezh, Volgograd and other cities. 12.12.2008As it was scheduled, on December 10, 2008 “Petersburg tram mechanical factory” OJSC completed complex trials of 71-154 tramcar and the Interdepartmental Commission recommended it for serial production. This model is a custom-built tramcar car specially designed for Volgograd streetcar express system (Metrotram) pursuant to the municipal contract for delivery of two express tramcars signed in June 2008. Tramcar express is an advanced transportation system featuring improved transportation capacity, high car speed and enhanced safety achieved by a unique customized design of the street railway and vehicle itself according to a special technology.Although tramcar express is a technical continuation of regular streetcar system, it requires new spacious low-floor cars with sufficient number of doors and two cabs for two-way shuttle runs. 71-154 tram is a unique vehicle designed and manufactured by Saint-Petersburg streetcar makers and continues the series low-floor high-capacity trams by PTMF OJSC. Eight-axle three-unit car designed and manufactured in the shortest possible time combines cutting-edge technologies with seasoned technical solutions, components and materials that proved to be efficient in 71-152 and 71-153 models. The main difference between 71-154 and the previous models is that it may be used for two-way (shuttle) runs as it has two operator’s cabs and does not require turning circles in the end of the route. Passenger can enter and leave the car from either side depending on the location of platform. Elevation of the low floor of new PTMF cars is 350 mm. Low-floor share in 71-154 is 43%. Wide door openings on both sides of the car as well as passenger areas in the low-floor sections were made to speed up entraining/detraining process and improve transportation conditions for disabled persons and passengers with baby buggies. A standard car layout includes 50 seats and also contributes to enhanced transportation conditions. The car has eight 90 kW rotary field motors used to comply with the traction and power requirements set out by technical norms and regulations for tunnels with increased air drag. Multi-purpose bogie uses two-stage springing system and vibration damping rubberized 6230 mm BonaTrans wheels and provides 750 mm elevation compared to 900 mm elevation typical for streetcars currently manufactured in RF. In case of any failure, each car can move without exterior traction as it has four independent traction drive mechanisms - one four each bogie. It can move using three, two or even one bogie .Traction drive system is equipped with so-called blackbox used to collect video information related to the performance of traction drive systems. The car has an automatic locomotive alarm system designed to ensure automatic speed correction and perform interval train correction (ALS-ARS-ST). Glued tinted PINKILGTON panels contribute to stylish appearance and protect from intense sunlight and prevent leaks. Cab windshield and side windows have electric heating. Exterior and interior panels are made of polymer materials that eliminate corrosion and extend service life of the car body. Advanced electric braking system keeps stopping distance within the set value, whereas mechanical brake applies at zero speed, thus minimizing brake shoe wear. Car anti-slipping and anti-skidding systems reduce rail impact and make slowdown process controllable under any circumstances .The car is equipped with hill holder system helpful at starting the tram on a slope. The car is equipped with the Lincoln automatic centralized lubrication system that minimizes maintenance efforts and ensures high-quality and timely lubrication of the car components and, therefore, extends service life of parts and mechanisms. The major appliances are placed on the car roof and in the technical compartment of the cab. The car wiring was accomplished using Harting connectors, which ensure highly reliable connections, smooth and easy interconnection and disconnection made within the circuit, minimize likelihood of incorrect assembly and do not require any maintenance. The car uses two collecting pantographs with electric drive by LEKOV Czech Company and modified and forced carriage adopted for overhead contact system currently used in Russia (overhead wiring load – 70 to 110N ± 10 N). Two Hubner coupling sets are installed on the car. The interior of the car is decorated with several lines of luminous tubes equipped with high power electric blower heaters used for its heating and ventilation, audio information system, scrolling text information panel and emergency door opening system. Additional fresh air inflow is achieved by the four roof hatches with built-in fans. The car is built with Tamware doors equipped with injury-preventing mechanism and anti-jam function. Operator’s control panel is based on the automated computer system with touch screen display. Video control system helps the operator to monitor the car and the driveway. Moreover, the blackbox of digital video surveillance system records video information that may be later extracted and analyzed and become helpful in case of accident or incident. Air conditioning system maintains required level of comfort and microclimate in the operator’s cabs. Therefore, having completed a car of this class the factory approached to construction of light rail transport (LRT). It was development of tram expresses projects that encouraged discussion on this mode of transport in Russia. Today, such projects are developed not only in Saint Petersburg, but also in Moscow, Voronezh, Volgograd and other cities. 09.12.2008In the beginning of December 2008, “Petersburg tram mechanical factory” OJSC completed two 71-153 (LM-2008) cars for Gorelectrotrans SUE (Saint Petersburg). The trial of LM-2008 tram was completed in May 2008, in summer it was presented to city authorities and in the second half of 2008 serial production of the car commenced. LM-2008 is a new four-axle car that continues PMTF OJSC series of low-floor trams. It combines cutting-edge technologies with seasoned technical solutions, components and materials practically proven in 71-152 Pioneer cars used in Saint Petersburg since 2007. Elevation of the low-floor of new PMTF OJSC trams is 350 mm. Low floor share of LM-2008 is 40%. Wide door openings on both sides of the car as well as passenger areas in the low-floor sections were made to speed up entraining/detraining process and to improve transportation conditions for disabled persons and passengers with baby buggies. Glued tinted panes enhance exterior design of the car. Exterior and interior panels made of polymer materials that eliminate corrosion and extend service life of the car body. The main thing about the new car is that it is a relatively small vehicle. Overall length of the car is 15 meters which helps it to fit well into the traffic stream without hindering. The car has four 55 kW rotary field motors sufficient to reach the speed of 75 km/h. The car equipped with anti-sliding and anti-skidding systems. Collecting pantographs with electric drive by LEKOV Czech Company are used to ensure continuous power supply to LM-2008 tram. The standard layout of LM-2008 includes 19 to 31 passenger seats. The maximum capacity of the car is 165 passengers. The interior of the car is decorated with several lines of luminous tubes equipped with high power electric blower heaters used for its heating and ventilation, audio information system, scrolling text information panel and emergency door opening system. The car is built with Tamware doors, equipped with injury-preventing mechanism and anti-jam function. Operator’s control panel is based on the automated computer system with touch screen display. Video control system helps the operator to monitor the car and the driveway. The air conditioning system maintains required level of comfort and microclimate in the operator’s cabs. Currently, LM-2008 car manufactured at PMTF OJSC has no equals in Russia and CIS. 71-153 (LM-2008) trams have never been run in Saint Petersburg until now. Company’s further intentions are to extend relations with Saint Petersburg Transport Committee and GUP “Gorelectrotrans” aiming to get the contract for the supply of more trams in replacement of the cars exceeded their operating life. 08.12.2008On December 2008, “Petersburg tram mechanical factory” OJSC delivered two remaining 71-152 trams (PIONEER) to GUP “Gorelectrotrans” (Saint Petersburg) and therefore completed the State contract signed by Saint Petersburg Transport Committee, “PMTF” OJSC and GUP “Gorelectrotrans” in April 2008. “PIONEER” (LVS-2005) - is the first Russian tram in which low-floor are exceeds 60 %. The main parameters of the car fully comply with European standards for low-floor trams. The car design was focused on the comfort of passenger with baby buggies, disabled and elderly passengers – it includes wide openings and passenger areas located in the low-floor section of the car (with floor elevation - 35 cm). New trams made in 2008 were manufactured applying new technical solutions and considering numerous GUP “Gorelectrotrans” requests that had been made based on the previous experience. At present 21 trams of this model can be seen on the streets of Saint Petersburg. 5 of these 21 cars were supplied in 2007, the remaining 16 were supplied under this year State contract. 4 more streetcars are to be supplied to GUP “Gorelectrotrans” (Saint Petersburg) till the end of 2008. 02.12.2008“VAGONMASH” CJSC and “Petersburg tram mechanical factory” OJSC joined Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
