Our achievements
Of late years «VAGONMASH» CJSC successfully developed and realized
several significant projects in car-building field.
From the recent accomplished projects it may be mentioned the making
of three modern Dining cars for the new train (named «Express» and
having Luxe-category). The cars have a new interior, improved
lay-out, exclusive designed workmanship and supplemented kitchen
equipment. In August 2007 the enterprise have agreed and signed the
engineering proposal on development and producing of these Dining
cars with one of its core customers - JSC «Russian Railways». Thus,
from the end of December, 2007, these cars included in «Express»
began to receive the first passengers. From 2003, «VAGONMASH» CJSC
builds Dining cars for «Russian Railways» meaning to include them
into its trains, although manufacture of Luxe category restaurant
cars was performed by the Company for the first time.
The other project, which ended in August
2009, was the supply of cars for the Warsaw Underground
(Poland). In summer, 2007 «VAGONMASH»
CJSC concluded an export contract on delivering of first 30 cars. In April 2009, signed a contract to supply
two additional trains. «VAGONMASH» CJSC
supplied in Poland 42 cars in total. All cars were specially
designed in compliance with Warsaw metropolitan technical
requirements. They essentially differ from serial car models in
produce because of their new original interior, made from
fire-resistant materials and highly efficient induced ventilation
system. As a consequence, was considerably reduced noise level in
passenger saloons by way of escaping traditional ventilation. The
cars are equipped with modern fire alarm and automatic fire
extinguishing systems for separate flammable parts. In car saloons
there are installed European made anti-vandal seats. Complex digital
information system enables the following functions: video
surveillance of all saloons and cabins with video data saving, voice
data translation over the train, “passenger-locoman” communication,
translation and data displaying onto digital information panels
“roll captions” provided two by two in each car. Two light lines
based on fluorescent tubes provide the required lightning and comply
harmonically with passenger saloon design. The cars have an outside
lacquer coating with increased flameproof properties, produced by
European firm. Asbestos containing materials are excluded from car
construction. The head end is made on metal frame base, glass fiber
coated on the outside. The head end is provided with a door enabling
the passenger evacuation onto railway tracks in case of emergency.
The locoman’s cabin is made in compliance with modern ergonomic
requirements; it has an augmented windscreen, as well as original
rearview mirrors which enable in complex the increased observability
for the locoman. The advanced locoman’s control panel is designed in
accordance with Russian and European ergonomic requirements, is
equipped with new control instrumentation, light-signaling and
commutation elements used by worldwide leading rail transport
producers. The locoman’s new controller – the key instrument of
train movement control, is designed on a modern elemental base which
enabled sizable reducing of its parameters.
The enterprise is
not content with gained results. At present «VAGONMASH» CJSC is
running a big capital projects targeted at the production of the
first Russian subway train of the IV generation, a unique product on
the Russian market, whereas its technical parameters, design and
major engineering solutions is completely in line with international
standards accepted by the world leading car makers (NeVa project). «VAGONMASH»
CJSC launched NeVa projects in the beginning of 2007, when the
company sighed and agreement with Skoda Transportation on
engineering development of the product. The protocol on cooperation
was signed on November 4th, 2007 during the visit of Saint
Petersburg officials to Czech Republic in attendance of Valentina
Matvienko, the Governor of Saint Petersburg and Mirek Topolanek, the
Prime Minister of Czech Republic. On 10 July 2009, «VAGONMASH» CJSC
introduced the first new street car of NeVa series. The ceremony was
attended by St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko,
representatives of city administration, as well as the heads of the
leading undergrounds of Russia, CIS and foreign countries. In
January of 2011 in anticipation of the first cars’ transfer (NeVa
project) for testing to GUP »Petersburg Metro«, the company was
visited by the heads of St. Petersburg administration headed by the
Governor. In the current year VAGONMASH is planning to receive a
certificate of compliance with the subsequent participation in the
tender for the supply of subway cars NeVa for the St. Petersburg
metro. Testing of the first cars began in March 2011. The company
management made a decision to built a new manufacturing facility at
the company’s subsidiary - «Petersburg Tram-Mechanical Factory» OJSC
(Kalinisky district, Saint Petersburg) with a special purpose to
make there new NeVa trains. Shortly after construction of the
facility should is finished in 2013, the subsidiary is to start
serial production of the new trains. The overall investments into
the production of the first six-car train and construction of
manufacturing facility will amount to RUB 3 billion.
Also, one of the largest projects realized by the Company of late
years concerns development and producing new generation cars for
Kazan Underground Railroad. «VAGONMASH» CJSC built five 4-car trains
with asynchronous drive and microprocessor control system. In
February, 2005, the enterprise formally presented the first electric
train built for Tatarstan’s capital. At the ceremony took part
Kazan’s mayor Kamil Ischakov, his deputies and other city
authorities. «We are glad because for our tube there were applied
the latest achievements of subway technologies, many of them were
put in use for the first time”, said then Mr. Ischakov. The formal
Kazan Underground Railways opening took place on August 27, 2005, in
the days when the Millennium of Kazan was celebrated. The opening
ceremony attended: President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin,
President of Republic of Tatarstan M.SH. Shaimiev, President of the
Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev, leaders of Russian Federation
subjects, Russian government ministers.
«VAGONMASH» CJSC appears as a producer of the first in Russia and
CIS subway car with asynchronous traction drive which was made in
2001 for Kiev Underground Railways.
